Volume 2 begins with the lively entrance of the Queen of Sheba from G.F. Handel's oratorio "Solomon" (HWV 67), followed by J. Chr. F. Bach's Sonata G-Dur and Ch. Gounod's pompous Marche Pontificale.
Two real earworms are B. Smetana's Die Moldau and E. Elgar's Pomp and Circumstance op. 39, while the encore pieces Narcissus from E. Nevin's suite "Water Scenes," S. Joplin's worldwide hit The Entertainer from the Oscar-winning film "The Sting," and finally K.-P. Chilla's Pop-Rock from his musical "Die Schöpfung" (VS 4169) are, as usual, the "cherry on top" of this magnificent repertoire for a concert evening à quattre mains!
