The charismatic tenor saxophonist and composer Jan Harbeck has previously released four albums with his steady band of many years on Stunt Records, all amongst the best selling instrumental jazz albums of the last decade in Denmark. Similar international success is surely imminent.

Harbeck's expressive, outgoing playing continues in the Swing tradition. Completely original, extremely stylish, he's a musician who digs deep and understands the importance of presence. Few others are able to blow so much soul into a jazz ballad.

Together, Henrik Gunde and Han Harbeck received the prestigious Bew Webster Prize in 2018 and the repertoire for the award ceremony concert was largely the inspiration for putting the program together for this vinyl edition, which features three Webster compositions alongside Billy Strayhorn's 'Johnny Come Lately' and some fine Harbeck originals.
