In 1776, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart composed a series of three piano concertos, among them the Concerto for Three Pianos and Orchestra in F major, No. 7, K. 242. Originally written in February 1776 for three pianos, Mozart later revised it in 1780 for a performance in Salzburg, adapting it for two pianos.
The concerto is affectionately referred to as the "Lodron" concerto, as it was commissioned by Countess Antonia Lodron for a special performance featuring her talented daughters, Aloysia and Giuseppa.
In the present arrangement for three pianos, the solo parts were left unchanged and are thus identical with the version in the NMA. The piano arrangement (third piano) adheres to the orgiginal orchestral score.
The third solo piano is only included in the score.
