In 1991 Nirvana released their seminal second album Nevermind and literally reinvigorated alternative music. With the final line-up of Kurt Cobain, Kris Novoselic and Dave Grohl in place they had perfected and honed their raucous heavy sound– Grohl’s hard-hitting drumming adding a new dynamic to the abrasive alternative rock.
